Why is there a fee to become a member of the website?
The fee helps to cover the cost for everything you see on this entire web site including the web space on the internet. It also goes toward advertising and personnel.

Do I have to promote my URL?
No, you do not HAVE to promote your unique URL. That is one of the benefits of using GiveHut. We promote the website on behalf of all of our members. We encourage visitors to the website to make random donations as well as direct donations. Please keep in mind though, that if you want to receive even more donations, you can solicit donations and use your unique URL.

What are random donations?
Random donations is a unique program offered by GiveHut. Oftentimes when visitors come to the website to make a donation, they want to help but they don't know to whom they would like to make a donation. GiveHut makes it easy for donors by selecting a member at random to receive a donation in this case. Also, if a donor reads a members story and would like to make a donation, we also ask that the donor make a donation to a random member (this is not required). This increases the chance that all members will receive donations whether they share their story or not.

Who may become a member of GiveHut?
Anyone with a Paypal account may become a member of GiveHut. We strive to help get donations for individiuals as well as companies and exempt organizations. If an organization is tax exempt, thereby, allowing donations to be classified as a taxable gift, this information will be provided on their story page.

How do I access the website after I join?
GiveHut will send you a username and password and create your personal webpage usually within 24 hours after you join. You will not be able to add a story or access any part of the site until that time.

How do I receive my donations?
Visitors come to the website and look through our member pages and decide if they would like to donate to your cause. Also, visitors are asked to donate to a random member as well. There is NO WAITING for donations. The donations are deposited directly into YOUR PayPal account. We do not collect donations on behalf of our members.

How much can I receive?
You can receive unlimited donations. You are not held back by any means. We do not, however, guarantee that you will receive donations. There is just a high chance that you will receive donations.
